The largest upcoming BESS projects in the world include BYD’s 12.5 GWh project in Saudi Arabia, Grenergy’s 11 GWh Oasis de Atacama project in Chile, and Sungrow’s 7.8 GWh deployment in Saudi Arabia lead the pack, PowerChina’s 6 GWh project in Inner Mongolia and India’s Green Energy Corridor in Ladakh, which includes a 12 GWh storage component, also rank among the world’s most ambitious undertakings. Energy storage projects in Syria
The Ministry of Energy of the Syrian Arab Republic and ACWA Power, the world’s largest private water desalination company and a global leader in energy transition and green hydrogen, have signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) to explore the development of approximately 2.5 GW of solar and wind projects, alongside energy storage solutions and a proposed national technical training centre.
